The cable shall be designed and manufactured to BS 7870-3.20:2001 and Kenya Standard KS04-1022 and the requirements of this specification.

Phase conductor: The phase conductor shall be circular stranded plain annealed aluminum conductors class 2P
Phase insulation: PVC compound.

Neutral-earth conductor: Annealed aluminum wires

4.1	Service conditions		a) The cable is a service cable for continuous operation outdoors and tropical conditions (temperature range of -10ºC to +40ºC, humidity of upto 90% and saline conditions along the coast). b) The cable is suitable for laying in cable ducts and in air. c) Permissible continuous loading operating temperature shall be 700 C and short circuit temperature of 160°C.
